Jurisdiction & Document Type (Optional)
Select both values if you want Initial and Sign to apply jurisdiction-specific signing,
witness, and execution rules. Leave both unselected for a standard signing workflow.
Witnessing (Optional)
Choose this only where the document needs a witness. Initial and Sign records the witness
requirement, relationship, state changes, recording evidence, hashes, and audit trail.
How the witness signs:
place the principal signer’s signature field on the document in the normal way. The witness is
linked to that signer (or to the whole document if selected below) and receives a separate
witness session to certify what they observed. At present, the witness process records that
certification against the signer relationship and document audit trail; it does not guess a
second witness signature location on the PDF. If a document needs a visible witness signature
box, add one as a separate signer field and assign it to the witness before sending.
Witnessed documents are normally recorded. The witness must consent, record camera/microphone evidence, and upload it before certification.
Extra charges may apply for recorded witnessing.
Use one witness for everyone, or assign different witnesses where each signer has their own witness. The witness relationship is recorded against each signer for the audit trail.
